These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the NihonScroll mobile application and website (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Using NihonScroll
NihonScroll provides educational Japanese-learning content, including flashcards, audio, illustrations, and practice tools. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial learning and reference.
You agree not to misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, attempt to access systems or data without authorization, redistribute paid or protected content, or use the Service in a way that violates applicable law.
Educational content
NihonScroll is a learning aid, not a guarantee of language proficiency, translation accuracy, examination results, or any particular outcome. Content may contain errors or change as the curriculum is improved. Use your judgment and consult qualified sources when accuracy is important.
Ownership
The Service, including its software, branding, design, original illustrations, audio recordings, text, and compilation of learning materials, is owned by NihonScroll or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you permission to use the Service; they do not transfer ownership.
Ads and purchases
The Service may display advertisements. You may purchase ad removal as a one-time in-app purchase through the official Apple App Store or Google Play version of NihonScroll. There is no subscription. Store billing, refunds, taxes, and payment processing are governed by the applicable store’s terms and policies.
Ad removal is tied to the store account and product entitlement verified by the applicable store. Purchases made through unofficial or third-party distribution channels are not supported.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party services such as Apple, Google Play, Google Mobile Ads, Firebase, and Google Cloud. Those services may have their own terms, policies, and availability requirements. NihonScroll is not responsible for third-party services outside its reasonable control.
Availability and changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, including particular content sets or features, as the app evolves. We may also update these Terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
Disclaimers and limits
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free content. To the extent permitted by law, NihonScroll will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the Service.
